On Friday, we checked in at 26-16 Jackson Avenue and noted that things are well along the way.1 Well, in another sign that the building is on the verge of delivery, construction crews posted the sign seen below. The building, dubbed ‘Jackson Avenue Rental’ is now taking applications for 20 affordable rental apartments that must be postmarked no later than April 14, 2014 (though the website says April 28. Better to be safe than sorry). Apartments range from studio to two bedroom apartments, and, as you can see, the target incomes for the 20 apartments range from $21,000 to $41,000 a year.
When it’s finished, it will bring 98 new units to the area. Amenities will include a fitness center, bike storage and finished roof deck. It will also feature 5,000 square feet of retail on the ground floor.2
The application and cover letter (along with a snazzy, though somewhat inaccurate, new rendering) can be found on the building’s website: http://jacksonaverental.com/
