Room Service was one of the films that screened at the “Cheaters” block at the 2017 Queens World Film Festival. Here is a synopsis of the film:
Two life-long friends spend the night together for the first time.
After the screening, we caught up with writer and lead actor, Bryce McLeay. Here’s what he had to say about the film:
The Court Square Blog: What was the inspiration behind the film?
Bryce McLeay: I took some creative liberties with this. This is an actual story that happened me. It wasn’t on a wedding day, but I think everyone has friends of the opposite sex that you are ultimately attracted to. This happened to one of my friends. It’s just a story of what you would do if you fall in love with your best friend? And the ramifications of that or how it affects your friendship ultimately.
TCSB: If there was an epilogue, what would happen?
BM: Ultimately, in a perfect world, they would choose love. They did get together and they realize all of this other material shit that they’ve either had before or would have in the future is just not as important as being with someone that you can tolerate for a period of time.
