42-10 27th Street begins to rise

We last checked in on 42-10 27th Street back in May, when construction crews were just starting to install rebar on site.1 It has been slow going for the project since then, but things appear to be picking up. When we walked by last week, we saw that foundation work has finally completed, and construction crews are starting to install steel beams, as seen in the photo below.

The lot is the future home of a 110-unit, 18-story building with 81,424 square feet of residential space and 8,645 square feet of commercial space.2 Permits were approved by the Department of Buildings on the site on May 19. NY Curbed spotted renderings for the build back in February.3
