Hope you weren’t planning on showering today…

If you’ve been walking around Purves Street in the last two weeks, you may have noticed an overflow of water at the corner of Purves and Jackson Avenue as a result of a busted water main. Well, the New York City Environmental Protection Office has finally gotten around to fixing things, but it also means shutting off all water to the block for the day.

Residents on Purves had notices hung on their doors this morning, saying that construction will start at 8:30 a.m. and may last up to 8 hours. So if you were planning on showering, using tap water or flushing the toilet, you’re going to be out of luck.
