MoMa to open eight new exhibitions in March


MoMa PS1 has a busy month planned

Eight new exhibitions will be opening at MoMA PS1, the museum announced earlier in the week.

According to the release: “Major solo exhibitions of Christoph Schlingensief1 and Maria Lassnig2 (opening March 9) are situated alongside solo shows from Gavin Kenyon,3 Korakrit Arunanondchai,4 and James Ferraro.5 The collective GCC6 looks at artistic responses to the recent transformation of the Arabian Gulf. Two additional group shows, Taster’s Choice,7 which explores the notion of “choice” as both a process and as the content of art making, and Zero Tolerance complete MoMA PS1’s spring transformation.”

On the occasion of the opening of the first U.S. retrospective of Christoph Schlingensief, Patti Smith commemorates Schlingensief’s art and friendship at 4pm in the VW Dome.

Sunday Sessions continues to compliment the exhibitions in the galleries with live programming in the VW Dome. March highlights include the launch of the Serving Jacket by THE SERVING LIBRARY (March 2), and a live performance by Korakrit Arunanondchai to accompany the opening of his exhibition (March 23).
