5Pointz’s legacy will continue in Long Island City.
The outdoor graffiti art exhibit space may have lost its spot in Long Island City on Davis Street,1 but artists are collaborating on an upcoming April show dubbed “Whitewashed: The Show.”
The event will open at Jeffrey Leder Gallery at 21-37 45th Road on Saturday, April 5 at 6 p.m. and run through June.
“The white wash is the first visual reaction by residents artists of 5 Pointz,” 5Pointz spokeswoman Marie for Meres said in an email to The Court Square Blog. “Their canvas express and reflect on what the demolition of their art make them feel and the sight of the building still standing four months later.”
