Construction at Murray Park moving along nicely

Construction at Murray Park, which is located between 11th and 21st streets, and 45th Avenue and 45th Road, is nearing completion of its fourth phase. We checked in on the project recently, and things seem to be moving along nicely.

This is the description of the work according to the New York City Parks Department:1

John F. Murray Playground is currently under construction. This much needed renovation will include new play equipment, safety surfacing, paving, fencing, and an innovative new spray shower. In addition, a series of new benches for parents and caregivers will be included, and native plants will be used in the landscaping. Once complete, this playground will be a welcome respite for visitors of all ages.

Delivery date is set for sometime this summer.

  1. That statement refers to the encolsed playground part that was completed 2 years ago. The current work is not the plyground but the grass and seating areas. They are currently laying the pavers for the walks and installing the benches and tables. They still have to install the new lights and the new fence. Hopefully this will be done by the time summer roles around.
