26-16 Jackson Avenue is nearing completion.
On Thursday morning, construction crews took down scaffolding that had surrounded the building for more than a year. We took a peak inside and saw that both elevators are operational and the crews are finishing the bottom floor retail spots. A worker on scene told us crews are also putting in the finishing touches on the interiors of the apartment, and mentioned that a restaurant may occupy the ground floor retail spot. We’ve also seen construction crews working on the roof deck, and you can see from the second photo that the construction there is well along the way.
When it’s finished, it will bring 98 new units to the area, with an 80/20 split, following the New York City affordable housing program. Amenities will include a fitness center, bike storage and finished roof deck. It will also feature 5,000 square feet of retail on the ground floor.1
