Workers were seen around the Rockrose owned site at 25-20 43rd Avenue in mid-March, the former building of Empire Bronze. While there is no construction going on and no permits have been filed with the Department of Buildings, Rockrose president Justin Elghanayan mentioned to The Court Square Blog back in March vague plans of turning this into a residential building.1 For now, the construction crews told us that they were just cleaning up the interior of the building.
According to records, Rockrose created 25-20 43rd Avenue LLC in February,2 and Queens Brownstoner notes that Rockrose paid a handsome sum of $8 million for the building.3 QBS also notes that the property itself has a FAR of 5, even though the current building only has a FAR of 1.52.4
I wonder if Rockrose will tear down the building or build around it. Hopefully they will leave it standing. The neighborhood needs to maintain the diversity, and this building has history. Although not all good:

Isn’t there a family home next door to this? I wonder if they’re going to get bought out.
