Rockrose Development Corp. is in contract to purchase The Wills Building at 43-01 21st Street, a spokesperson confirmed to the Court Square Blog.
The building is currently a commercial building with three floors and approximately 120,000 square feet of space.
“We’re in contract to purchase 43-01 21st Street,” Rockrose Senior Vice President Patricia Dunphy said to The Court Square Blog. “The building is almost fully occupied and we’re going to continue to operate it as a commercial property.”
It is the latest in a line of projects in Court Square area for Rockrose. The development corporation recently announced that its Linc LIC at 43-10 Crescent Street was 100 percent leased in August.1 Earlier this year, Rockrose also started construction on a 50-story mixed-use building at 43-25 Hunter Street, which will contain 974 apartments, and 19,400 square feet of ground floor retail.2
Rockrose has a third project underway at the former Eagle Eletric building at 43-22 Queens Street. Plans for that building include a 54-story tower with 783 apartments.3
