We were walking by 21-30 44th Drive last week when we saw abatement signs dated Dec. 29, 2014 for the building. When we last checked in on the site back in October, we noted that there weren’t any permits filed for the site,1 but that’s changed since then, as a demolition and scaffolding permit have been filed.2
The building was sold back in April for $13,700,000 according to Queens Brownstoner.3 QBS also surmised that while the building is zoned for mixed use, it will likely remain for commercial purposes since the buyer was Kupoint USA Corporation, who is frequently involved in warehouse storage.
