Bright Horizons is coming to Court Square this summer

Long Island City is becoming home to more and more families, and with the change in demographics, residents will have a key option for their children in Court Square. Bright Horizons Early Education & Preschool will be opening this year at 42-09 28th Street.1 In preparation for the move, we sat down with Bright Horizons to get to know them better.

The Court Square Blog: Tell us about Bright Horizons Early Education & Preschool.

Bright Horizons Early Education & Preschool: Bright Horizons is the leading provider of high-quality early education and preschool. Our programs empower children from infancy on to become confident, successful learners and secure, caring people. We strive to grow young readers, scientists, artists, and explorers who are engaged and curious. Our programs invite children to approach school and academics with skills, confidence, and a drive for excellence. Our new center in Long Island City will include a Movement Matters Zone with Rock Climbing Wall, SMART Board and touch screen computers, enrichment activities, and strict health and safety guidelines, qualified and trained teachers and more!

TCSB: What kind of programs do you offer?

BH: We offer full- and part-time, year round Infant, Toddler, Twos, Preschool, and Kindergarten Prep programs as well as Back-Up and Drop-In Care. Our center will serve children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. Our curriculum, The World at Their Fingertips®, is built around extensive research , 21st-century technology, and developmentally appropriate instruction. The curriculum introduces concepts of math, science, language, culture, environment, art, and health.

TCSB: Why did you pick the Court Square area?

BH: We picked the Court Square area because it is having great residential and commercial expansion. We thought this would be a great opportunity to offer our excellent child care to parents who want their children to approach school prepared with the skills, confidence, and drive to succeed.

  1. That would be Queens Plaza not Court Square. It appears it will be in the empty retail space of the Dept. of Health building based on the address.
