Thanks to an anonymous tipster, who alerted us to activity at 9-03 44th Road (and was also kind enough to provide us with the below picture), a former site of Manhattan Cabinetry. Construction crews have put up a fence surrounding the property, which will eventually turn into a 12-story hotel, according to DOB permits.1 The space will be 84,600 square feet with a FAR of 2.00, and will house 199 dwelling units.

I’ve always been interested in that building and what it was originally built for. I wish developers would incorporate interesting old facades into the design rather than distroy character.
