Back in April, The Court Square Blog was the first to report that an Astoria Bank branch was opening at 26-26 Jackson Avenue “The Vere” in Court Square.1 Construction on the project began late last month, as seen in the photos below.
The bank will move into a portion of the 5,600 square foot retail space—currently occupied by Nestseekers—inside The Vere at 26-26 Jackson Avenue later this year. The other portion will remain occupied by Nestseekers. In the last month, we’ve seen construction crews installing new glass on the ground floor pursuant to a permit filed with the Department of Buildings back in March.2
