SculptureCenter’s Public Process High School Internship Program is a two-week intensive program (July 7–17) that will use NYC’s rich Public Art landscape to explore the history and impact of Public Art and its community influence. Interns will meet with curators, architects, urban planners, and local historians, and visit public art sites and artists’ studios to learn about the professional creative process and issues surrounding contemporary art, public space, community activism, and urban design. At the end of the program, interns will join a panel of professionals in selecting a temporary public artwork to be installed in Long Island City’s Court Square Park.
Public Process is an unpaid internship program. School credit and community service hours are available to qualified students.
