Note your calendars for March 15 – 20, 2016 for the 6th Annual Queens World Film Festival – We are set to open at the Museum of the Moving Image and will roll out to multiple venues in LIC, Astoria and beyond.

Turning six in 2016, QWFF includes an annual multi day and multi venue festival, industry panels, special events, youth-oriented educational initiatives and year round screening opportunities for QWFF filmmakers, past and present.

2015 Statistics
SUBMISSIONS: 453 submissions, 41 from Queens
ACCEPTED: 117 films, 21 from Queens
PREMIERS: 15 World Premiers, 19 NY Premiers, 31 US Premiers
VENUES: 3 venues, 5 screens and 6 days, over 80 hours of programming
ATTENDEES: 3016

SELECTION PROCESS
All films are pre-screened by the festival programmer and QWFF Screening Committee, assessing technique, execution, material and originality. High scoring films are moved into the programming and Jury process which involves re-screenings and re-scorings.

PROGRAMMING
The festival is programmed by thematic blocks, grouping complimentary films together to maximize audience appeal and to create a specific experience. Each block has a host who introduces the films and filmmakers, welcomes our guests and conducts the Q&A.
