It’s been roughly two months since we last checked in on Rockrose’s 43-25 Hunter Street project.1 Back then, construction had just barely peeked over the construction fence, but now, the development has hit a growth spurt, with the building rising more than a dozen stories.
According to permits, the 50-story building will have 767,305 square feet of residential space and 18,800 square feet of retail space.2 The renderings on site call for a summer 2017 delivery on the building.
Every day when I wake up I look out the window and am amazed at how fast they’re moving. And how slowly Food Cellar is. Lol. I wonder when it’s done if the retail space will be one or two large commercial spaces (similar to how Linc is), or if it will be partitioned into a series of spaces. I’d prefer the latter, but each of the spaces would probably have large footprints. But with Food Cellar (hopefully) on its way, I can’t imagine what else would take up thousands of square feet by itself. Oh wait, a Duane Reade. What a novel idea. A pharmacy in the neighborhood…
