Demolition is underway at 42-44 Crescent Street. Construction crews have erected a plywood fence, and as you can see in the photo below, the building is well on its way to being taken down. Abatement for the building began earlier in the year.1
New York YIMBY spotted a build permit back in July that called for an 8-story residential building with ground floor retail space.2 The DOB last reviewed the permits on Sept. 5, and disapproved them. Here are the proposed details of the building:
The permit is for a 15,338-square-foot building of eight stories and 92 feet – modest in total size, but dense for a 25-foot-wide lot. It will include 12 condos, according to the developer, spread over 10,435 square feet of net residential space. The building will also feature a ground-level retail bay measuring 2,060 square feet.
