Permits approved at 27-01 Jackson Avenue

In mid-October, demolition finished on 27-01 Jackson Avenue, former home of a Gas Trac.1 Expect work on the site to begin soon, with the Department of Buildings approving build permits on Oct. 20. Permits call for 7,090 square feet of commercial space and 65,238 square feet of residential space. The building will rise 15 stories and house 88 units.2

It’s worth noting that the approved permits are in contrast to previous renderings uncovered by 6sqft, where the projected build was supposed to be 30 stories.3

  1. It’s a shame that these two proposed buildings for this location and across the street are such bad massing/glazing with their facades. I’m all for new construction, but these new proposed buildings are not great aesthetically. If there is a tower that has good massing proportions and a nice ratio of glass to brick or panel they value engineer out anything good and it ends up being built with terrible looking glass to meet their UV code protection and cheap looking panels.
