We last checked in at 9-03 44th Road, the former site of Manhattan Cabinetry, back in May, when construction crews had just erected a fence around the site.1 Since then, demolition has completed on site, as seen in the photo below. Permits were approved by the Department of Buildings in November calling for a 12-story, 199 unit hotel with 84,600 square feet with a FAR of 2.00.2

A look inside 9-03 44th Road
That old building was a classic case of where a creative architect could have incorporated the old facade into a new building. LIC is rapidly losing its industrial character and will soon look like Battery Park City. (BTW, Does anyone know the original use for that building?)
Agreed! They kept the old facade up until a few weeks ago, and I thought that’s what they were going to do w/ it. It’s slated to be a Dream Hotel.
