In September, The Court Square Blog was the first to report that Dutch Kills would be the new home for M. Wells food.1 Initially, the timeline for M. Wells to open was later fall, but we are now in February, and we have learned that it has still not set up shop yet. A source with knowledge of the situation says that M. Wells is trying for an “early spring” opening.
Here are more details about the spot from M. Wells restaurateur Sarah Obraitis to Eater:2 “The menu is taking shape nicely and yes it is going to be akin to bar food though I suppose that’s an understatement coming from M. Wells. Of course our rich foods will complement the boozy cocktails and other light, seasonal fare will be a welcome addition for both early evening drinking and late-night needs.”
The space will be Dufour’s third in the Court Square area, joining M. Wells Dinette inside MoMA PS1 and M. Wells Steakhouse, located across the street from Linc LIC.
