First Class Auto Repair at 43-05 Crescent Street officially closes

Back in April, The Court Square Blog reported that First Class Auto Repair at 43-05 Crescent Street would be closing its doors and would be moving to 44-35B 39th Street in Sunnyside.1 The closing officially happened over the weekend, and when we took a look inside the lot, the vehicles that used to be inside the lot were now gone, as seen in the photo below.

The most recent filing with the Department of Buildings calls for a change in use of the building, which was approved in October.2 “HEREWITH FILING FOR A CHANGE OF USE AND OBTAIN NEW C/O. WORK INCLUDES INTERIOR RENOVATION CONSTRUCTION, PLUMBING AND MECHANICAL CREATING AN APARTMENT ON 2ND FLOOR. NO WORK ON 1ST FLOOR EXISTING CONDITION.”

  1. Hmm.. Well, that permit, as it clearly states, is for the structure next door, and I’m assuming the hideous green paint is our indication that the $53k was not spent very wisely.

I would be shocked if we don’t see some new filings here in the very near future – for the actual parcel in question 43-05 Crescent.
