LONG ISLAND CITY, NY – Long Island City’s newest luxury rental building, 2222 Jackson, is already 60 percent leased, Developer Jeffrey Gershon and Triumph Property Group, the firm handling marketing and leasing for the building, are pleased to announce. Leasing began in Mid-April, and the first move-ins are expected for this week.1
ODA New York, the architecture firm behind 2222 Jackson, also recently received an award in the 2016 Society of American Registered Architects (SARA) Design Awards Program (Housing category) for its work on the acclaimed building.
The 11-story, ODA New York-designed building features 175 studio through three-bedroom apartments. Situated across the street from MoMA PS1 and known for its boxy form and architectural concrete façade, 2222 Jackson’s structure plays on the notions of space and scale. Retail will be located on the ground floor.
“We are thrilled with prospective renters’ excitement about 2222 Jackson since leasing began,” said Brian Weiss, partner of Triumph Property Group and head of on-site leasing. “It affirms what we have known for awhile; that renters are responding to impeccable attention to detail, design and location, and understand that 2222 Jackson achieves all three.”
Jeffrey Gershon added, “The response to this building has been overwhelmingly supportive. Design industry professionals, the real estate community, local neighbors and even politicians, have reached out to us commending the innovative design, the concept of the vertical village and use of dormer windows, and we believe this project will be an iconic building in Long Island City for years to come.”
Residents enter 2222 Jackson through a triple-height lobby with a doorman. Each floor features a floor-to-ceiling windowed hallway corridor with staggered lighting designed to mirror the boxy façade. Residents can join the amenity club on the third floor, featuring a state-of-the-art fitness center, indoor and skylit swimming pool, landscaped terrace off the pool area, and a lounge with WiFi, televisions and ping-pong. There is also on-site valet parking, an onsite resident manager, and a roof deck with expansive city and bridge views. There are washers/dryers on every floor as well as in the larger units.
Residences feature floor-to-ceiling windows and white oak hardwood flooring throughout, as well as solid core doors. Fully responsive vertical HVAC units create additional interior space. Many residences also have concrete ceilings, a washer and dryer, and premier penthouse apartments come with private rooftop terraces.
Kitchens boast custom stone countertops and Blomberg and Bosch appliances. Many closets are built-out with double-rod storage. Elegant baths have custom-built showers and tile.
Triumph Property Group is handling exclusive marketing and leasing for 2222 Jackson, and there is an on-site leasing gallery. Monthly rental prices on available apartments currently range from approximately $2,350 per month to more than $6,350 per month.
2222 Jackson is located in vibrant Long Island City. The E, M, G, N, Q, R and 7 trains, bus service, and the Long Island Railroad, are within easy reach, as are the Midtown Tunnel, Queensboro Bridge, Long Island Expressway, and Brooklyn/Queens Expressway.
