Earlier in July, we reported that Chelsea Pediatric Dentistry was coming to 45-45 21st Street in Court Square.1 Recently, we sat down with Dr. Natasha A. Larson to discuss her new location. Here’s what she had to say:
The Court Square Blog: Tell us about Chelsea Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Larson: I founded Chelsea Pediatric Dentistry in 2013 along with Dr. Loren Buonocore. We are two Board Certified Pediatric Dentists who had been working together for several years at a practice in Long Island before discovering a need for a pediatric dentist in Chelsea and now in Long Island City. Our practice philosophy focuses on prevention of disease and the development of healthy oral habits at a young age. I and Dr. Loren follow the guidelines of the AAPD and recommend that a child’s first dental visit be around their 1st birthday.
TCSB: Why did you select Court Square, Long Island City as the place to open your second location?
DL: We chose our new location near Court Square because we loved the community feel of the Long Island City neighborhood and the exciting growth that the neighborhood is experiencing. As a resident of Hunters Point, I quickly recognized the void Long Island City had in terms of pediatric health care providers. We both have spent considerable time in the area over the last couple of years and saw a glaring need for a dental practice that specializes in the unique needs of children, adolescents and children with special health care needs, as there is currently not a single pediatric dental specialist practicing within the borders of Long Island City. We are very excited to offer our brand of high-quality pediatric dental care to the children and families of Long Island City and the surrounding areas.
TCSB: When is your anticipated opening?
DL: We plan on opening in mid-August.
TCSB: Where can we find out more information about your practice?
DL: You can reach us at 212.243.5437, visit our current location at 220 West 26th Street, New York, New York 10001, or visit our website at http://chelseapediatricdentistry.com/
