Rendering appears at 43-30 24th Street

Back in July, demolition finished up at 43-30 24th Street.1 When we stopped by last week, a rendering had appeared on the site, as seen in the photo below. (H/T to Amadeo Plaza for alerting us.) Signage calls for a fall 2017 delivery on the mixed-use space. The Real Deal was the first to spot construction permits back in May, and here is more information about the project:2

The 838,000-square-foot building at 43-30 24th Street will include 921 rental apartments, 17,000 square feet of retail space, a library and an indoor swimming pool. […] Stawski Partners, founded by German-born Axel Stawski, owns half a dozen office buildings in Manhattan, including 360 Madison Avenue and the Broad Financial Center at 33 Whitehall Street.

  1. there is no way they can fit a 66 floor in that little plot of the land. I think the footprint of the said project have not been demolished.

The rendering is for the smaller piece of land next to the 66 story tower.

  2. Yes I understand the part that is demolished is for a small 2 story office – perhaps the control centre for the rest of the 66 story building – which will take up the entire area between 23rd and 24th Streets and 44th Rd and 43rd Ave
