Last week, The Court Square Blog reported that a dry cleaner was headed for 26-20 Jackson Avenue.1 We recently checked the Department of Buildings bin for the space, and a permit was approved on Feb. 6 to “INSTALL NEW NON-BEARING G.W.B. PARTITIONS FOR SCREENING, WASHERS, SLOP SINKS, GAS DRYERS, VENTS AND GAS WATER HEATER AS PER PLAN.”2 The name of the business under the permit is “PURVES CLEANERS INC.”
The spot was originally reported to have been claimed by Michelin Star restaurateur Danny Brown, but according to a report in September 2015, that deal fell through.3
