Construction moving along quickly at 27-26 Jackson Avenue, future home of ‘Sapps’

Construction is moving along quickly at 27-26 Jackson Avenue, future home of Japanese eatery “Sapps.”1 The project is being done by Shih Lee and Eric Lehrer, and Lehrer was kind enough to share photos of the updated construction inside the space.

As you can see in the photos below, the space pays tribute to the former graffiti mecca 5 Pointz.

“Just like Sapporo East had a great run, we want to take it to the next level,” Lehrer said.2 “Court Square has been around before the boom and the 5 Pointz was a big part of that. We want to integrate the history and character of the neighborhood into Sapps. I think it’s part of our philosophy to remember the good things from the past and hold on to it and take it into the future. We want to remember all the good it did for the neighborhood.”

The restaurant has an anticipated opening later in 2017.
