A Starbucks is coming to 26-14 Jackson Avenue, multiple sources have confirmed to The Court Square Blog. The Starbucks will open in a space that was previously occupied by the sales gallery for The Dutch LIC.1
A construction permit was filed on Friday, May 26, calling for the renovation of the existing retail space, including “NEW NON LOAD-BEARING PARTITION, FINISHES, LIGHTING AND ALL OTHER RELATED WORK AS PER PLANS INCLUDING MECHANICAL, PLUMBING WORK ASSOCIATED WITH PROVIDING EQUIPMENT.”2 That permit was filed by Dan Shallit, a Director of Store Development at Starbucks.
The Starbucks will be the second in the Court Square area, with the original being in the Citi building. However, this will be the first Starbucks in a brick and mortar store in the Long Island City area.
