A BP at 21-17 Jackson Avenue has closed, and plywood fencing is up at the site. We did a little digging inside the DOB bin, and it appears that the closure is temporary. According to a work permit approved in March 2018, the closure is related to replacing underground storage tanks:1
PROPOSED REMOVAL OF (4) EXISTING 4,000 GALLON UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANKS (USTS). INSTALLATION OF (1) 12,000 GALLON UST AND (1) 12,000 GALLON COMPARTMENT UST CONSISTING OF (2) 6,000 GALLON COMPARTMENT WITH ASSOCIATED PIPING, ISLANDS AND DISPENDERS. SUPPORT OF EXCAVATION FILED BY OTHERS. NO CHANGE TO USE, EGRESS OR OCCUPANCY.
