A construction fence is up at the former site of Manny’s Auto Electric Corp at 27-19 Thomson Avenue. A permit was filed with the DOB back in July to demolish the one story building.1 Eventually, a 10-story mixed use building will rise in its place containing 23,012 of residential space and 5,039 of commercial space.
LIC Post was the first to spot the permits back in September.2 Here’s more details from them:
A total of 30 units are planned for the site, with most floors holding four apartments each. The first two floors and down to the cellar, meanwhile, would be reserved for retail space. Other features of the building include a recreation room, a third-floor terrace, and a roof terrace.

They started tearing down the garage this morning. Won’t be long now.
