Construction permits filed for mixed-use build at 23-20 Jackson Avenue

We last checked in on 23-20 Jackson Avenue when signage had appeared on the site advertising available space for Jackson Square, an 83,000 square food mixed-use office/retail space dubbed Jackson Square NYC.1 Plans are now moving ahead, with new filings with the Department of Buildings last week calling for a mixed-use commercial building that will rise nine floors and contain 61,286 of commercial space.2 Abatement is underway on site, and a sidewalk shed has been installed, as seen in the photos below.

New York YIMBY was the first to spot the permits over the weekend and offered the following details:3

The new structure will dedicate 65,000 square feet of newly built space toward residential units, a hotel, and dormitory spaces. The entire building itself is set to yield 82,851 square feet. It will be designed by KSQ Architects. The upcoming building will have 72 residential units, each averaging around 902 square feet, most likely making them rentals.
