In May, we checked in on Starbucks’ second Long Island City location at 42-10 27th Street and saw that crews had taken down a plywood fence to reveal the interior of the coffee shop.
Progress has been slow since then, as you can see in the photos below. The Seattle-based company is still aiming to open their doors sometime this summer.
“Starbucks is always looking for great locations to better meet the needs of our customers, and we’re happy to confirm that we will be opening a new location at 4210 27th St. in Long Island City, NY this summer,” a Starbucks spokesperson said in email to The Court Square Blog. “This location will employ approximately 20 partners (employees).”
Starbucks opened their first Long Island City location at 26-14 Jackson Avenue back in 2017.1
The coffee spot is only a small portion of the retail space of the building. It is part of a 110-unit, 18-story building with 81,424 square feet of residential space and 8,645 square feet of commercial space.2
