Earlier in August, The Court Square Blog reported that an CityMD Urgent Care was coming to 42-10 27th Street.1 We sat down with Co-founder and Chief Growth Officer Dr. Nedal Shami recently to find out more about their new medical office. Here’s what he had to say:
The Court Square Blog: Tell us about CityMD.
CityMD: With a vision to build healthier, kinder communities, CityMD was founded in 2010 to fill a void in the healthcare space and provide convenient access to high-quality care. It has since grown to over 120 locations with 500 board-certified providers treating over 3.4 million patients.
TCSB: What is your philosophy toward treating patients?
CMD: We have a philosophy of putting the humanity back in healthcare, and “serving kindness” when patients are most vulnerable. This patient-centric way of thinking is the cornerstone behind all aspects of CityMD.
TCSB: Why did you pick Court Square as your latest location?
CMD: The entire Long Island City neighborhood is experiencing massive growth. The recent development of large buildings for commercial and residential use is second to none in Queens. It’s our mission to serve our communities by providing quality medical care through convenient access and an exceptional experience, and by opening a site in a fast-growing neighborhood like LIC, we can ensure that even more people can get this level of care should the need arise.
