The last time we checked in at 27-55 Jackson Avenue was in October, when construction crews put up pipe scaffolding on the building.1 When we stopped by last week, we saw that demolition has started, with the top floor of the three-story building already torn down.
The former site of Uber will turn into a nine-story mixed-use building with 40 residential units according to permits filed with the DOB.2 New York YIMBY was the first to spot the permits back in June:3
The proposed 104-foot-tall development will yield 31,936 square feet, with 29,100 square feet designated for residential space and 2,636 square feet for commercial use. The building will have 40 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 727 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar.
