Construction has started for Gong Cha, which is coming to 25-08 Queens Plaza South.
A permit filed with the Department of Buildings in January will “RENOVATE EXISTING COMMERCIAL (UG6) UNIT AT 1ST FL + CELLAR.”1 Construction paper now covers the windows, as seen in the photo below.
Signage appeared in November announcing the new business.2 The tea shop, which is based in Taiwan, has more than 1,600 locations worldwide.
Gong Cha will take over for KAF Check Cashing, which closed in 2019.3
